About me

Hello there.

My name is Natasha Worswick, and this is my blog. It’s about lots of things really, but it tends to focus on children’s books (the ones I’ve enjoyed or not), the publishing industry, children’s marketing and tracking my son Milo’s reading habits.

I also get a little carried away with baking ,crafty things and the odd bit of knitting.

Milo and I also try to do a new Bookish Bites each week where we take inspiration from a picture book we’ve read and try our hands at making some delicious food spotted within its pages.

By day, I’m a marketing consultant for children’s book publishers and charities. My clients include Book Aid International, Maverick Arts Publishing, Booktrust, HarperCollins, QED Publishing and others. You can find out more about me and what I do for a living on my website.

  1. Natasha – Congratulations on the birth of Milo! I just discovered your blog and can’t wait to read more. I am a kid’s lit geek and especially like British authors. Have you read anything byFrances Hardinge? She is amazing! I envy you having worked for Walker Press. If I lived in the East Coast I’d apply for a job with Candlewick, their American counterpart, asap! Have fun reading to you baby! Not sure if you can get this where you are, but check out “Everywhere Babies” by Susan Meyers and incredible illustrations by Marla Frazee. My little guy loved it! Cheers – Tanya

Thanks Tanya! I really appreciate your comments. I have a whole host of topics lined up to blog about in the next few weeks, especially after Christmas, which saw a bumper crop of books arrive Milo’s way. Now I just have to find the time to write about them all! I recognise Frances Hardinge and Susan Meyers as author names but can’t think whether I know of any of their stuff…I’ll have to check them out and get back to you.

  2. I am so happy to run across your blog. I have another blog you might be interested in, at least in the future. It is I review books, movies and games on that site. My own boys are 16 and 13; so if you don’t mind, I hope to use your blog as a source for early level reading. Please give the Closer Look site a view. I’d love some feedback. Enjoying yours. Thank you for it.

Hello! I just found your book as I was looking for the knitting pattern associated with Milo Armadillo – just got this lovely book from the library yesterday and I’m going to review it on my blog (, but would love to try making the armadillo. However, I can’t find the pattern – the link isn’t working. You don’t happen to have a copy do you? I’m off now to have a good look around your lovely looking blog, I’m sure I’m going to find some good stuff given the combination of kids books, crafty things and cakes that I’ve already seen!

      Hi Zoe,

If you email me at natasha dot worswick at googlemail dot com – I can send it on to you if you’d like. My knitting skills aren’t quite there yet for me to attempt it, but I am getting better!
