A fascinating insight into the life and work of Alan Ahlberg in the Guardian Children’s books section to celebrate the 30th publication year of Peepo. Enjoy!

Thank you Natasha, I did enjoy reading the article. I remember visiting an exhibition of the Ahlbergs work once at The Piece Hall in Halifax (yorkshire) featuring some of Janets original illustrations from The Jolly Postman. It was interesting to see the process involved from initial ideas to the finished book and to read about the couple & how they worked together to produce such classics.

That sounds like a lovely exhibit. I’ve just missed a Peepo exhibition at the Illustration Cupboard in London. Am a bit gutted – realised far too late that it was on and then couldn’t get there because of a bit too much work at that time. They’re such an interesting couple – I’d love to know a bit more about how they managed to work together. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
