Our new, tidy book nook

I haven’t posted about book nooks in a while so I thought I would share a new one with you today. Book nook posts are inspired by Amy’s blog Literacy Launchpad and she has lots of her own to look at over there. I have a fair few posts on my blog and this one feels a bit telling of how much Milo’s grown since I last shared with you.

This is Milo’s new Tidy Books book box – a lovely present from his Grandpa and Grandma. I love it, he loves it and it has created a much more accessible book nook in his bedroom that is just for him. He chooses his bedtime books from it each evening and enjoys spending time organising his books that are in there. In the lead up to Christmas we filled it with seasonal titles for his to get excited about.

If you’ve not come across Tidy Books before they are a great little company that specialise in creating bookshelves and book boxes for children’s bedroom. Milo has the Tidy Box in white. Eventually, when he’s out of his cot, into a bed and his bedroom has had a switch around and we’ve got rid of the shelves in his room that are just not quite wide enough to fit a standard size picture book in, I’d like to get him one of their ABC bookcases. I love bookcases that are outfacing. You can see all the glorious covers straight away and in particular for a child who can’t yet read, they can gain independence by choosing books through the cover artwork that is so familiar and recognisable to them and Tidy Books have recognised this perfectly.

I’m sure that you can get bookcases and book boxes similar in style to this from other shops and other companies but one of the other things that I love about Tidy Books is that they have a passion for children’s books and literacy.  It’s not just about selling their products. If you want to see what I mean just take a look at their blog – it’s packed full of interesting content. Just make sure you have some time out aside to explore!

This is not a sponsored post. I just really like Tidy Books and Milo’s new book nook.

We really like Tidy Books too – as you say, they’re not just about selling what they make, they really do love books too!

I know… such a great company! I’m finding it increasingly important to source products from companies that really have a passion for what they do and Tidy Books are really good at being passionate about children’s reading.

No problem – Milo’s loving his book nook. Hoping to add to it soon when we redecorate his room ready for the big boy bed… just not quite ready to let him out his cot yet!

  3. Oh yes, nothing like a nice stack of tidy books – they are so much appealing to read that way.. Sadly, ours never stay tidy for long and I am for every tidying them up. But I guess that means they are enjoying them!!!
