Stick Man, oh Stick Man…

Milo’s reading habits are changing hugely at the moment, as is his language. He is talking lot more and is much more able to express what he wants to read and when he wants to read it.

Yesterday I read Stick Man by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler five times to him and considering it was one of my work days and he was at his grandparent’s for the majority of the day, that is quite a lot of Stick Man reading!

At bedtime he only wants Peepo by the Ahlbergs or The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers (for the aeroplane and penguin!).

Last week we went through a huge spate of reading our Little Red Train books to him. Over and over. He’s learnt to say “again” and he’s really using it and of course, because I love reading to him and snuggling up with a book I’m doing just exactly what he’s asking for! My housework is really suffering.

  1. Peepo and The Way Back Home are in heavy rotation here too… also Please Baby Please by Spike and Tonya Lee, Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book (Donaldson/Scheffler) and, perennially, Teh Very Hungry Caterpillar. Still.

We have Peepo in heavy rotation at bedtime at the moment. Milo is poorly and I think the calming rhymes of the Ahlberg’s are making him feel better! Thanks for stopping by.
