Booktrust’s new writer in residence is…
Anyone who reads my blog regularly will know that I am hugely excited by this. Hugely. I love Polly Dunbar’s work. Love, love. love it! Milo is a big fan of Penguin, Where’s Tumpty and I thoroughly enjoy reading them to him, especially Shoe Baby. The illustrations in that book just make me want to scoop the baby off the page and tickle him like crazy.
So here’s the blurb from the Booktrust site about what we can expect from Polly’s residency:
As Booktrust’s fourth writer in residence, Polly Dunbar will be inviting you into her sketchbook. She will be sharing the creative process of capturing ideas and her day-to-day doodling and how these random thoughts can become stories, final artwork and eventually picture books. Polly will also be keeping a record of her life as a book maker, the editorial meetings, school visits, puppet shows and the essential quiet time working from home.
I honestly cannot wait for her first post. Eek.
