Roald Dahl Day 2010

Nosy Crow recently asked through twitter and their online diary which authors we all most like to re-read. Roald Dahl is easily among my favourites and with the continuing success of Roald Dahl day, I am sure that he will be for children of generations to come.

Roald Dahl day takes place on the 13th September (a Monday) and this year’s events include a roadshow, a musical and a Roald Dahl Reading Relay, as well as smaller events planned over 70 Waterstones stores across the UK. There will be a Roald Dahl storymaking tool up on Puffin’s subscription site http://www.wemakestories.com

There are also new books coming out including Storyteller: Roald Dahl by Donald Sturrock (the first authorised biography), a new edition of The Twits with colour artwork by Quentin Blake (very excited about this, might have to buy a copy!) and the first Roald Dahl annual will be published this month.
