There is a lot in the book news world about our children’s laureates at the moment. This is because it is the tenth year of the laureateship and so lots of great events are going on to celebrate. I read on Book Brunch about an event at Waterstones Piccadilly called “Now we are 10” where all four laureates addressed 100 primary school children and talked of their own memories of being 10. A great idea for an event and it sounds like it was a lot of fun!
Also, after I posted the other day about I read in The Guardian this fun article on the some of the books Lucy Mangan felt the laureates had overlooked. These included Charlotte’s Web (I totally agree!), The Secret Garden and Tom’s Midnight Garden.
