Patrick Ness and Booktrust
Okay, so I am a bit slow in blogging about this and I know that loads of people have already done so, but I did just want to say how much I am enjoying Patrick Ness’s blog on the Booktrust website.
I particularly liked his post on Haruki Murakami and running! I bought What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami for Milo’s dad (who is a big fan) and he really enjoyed it.
Patrick was explaining that to be a good writer, on top of family, children and friends it helps to have a hobby and to live your life, not just focus on the writing. I wish I had the time! Milo’s knitted blanket (knitting being my new hobby) is about this far done:
I’ve done three and a half more squares since I last blogged about it. And there is very little time to write!
For those of you who have missed all the news about this, Patrick Ness, author of The Knife of Never Letting Go, is Booktrust’s online writer in residence. Their very first one and a great choice I think. Read an interview with Patrick, as well as his blog and tips on writing here.
Also, Patrick is running in the London marathon this year (hence the post on running). We always go to the start to cheer the runners on so we might spot him! Good luck to everyone running!
