Lots of rhyming fun!

So Milo and I had a great day yesterday! A friend told us about a rhymetime session that our local library service runs, that was taking place at a nearby hall every Tuesday at 11.30 for FREE! I had no idea. It seems this is very word of mouth as I can’t find anything on the internet about it, and as our local library is closed at the moment for refurbishment, there are no signs up anywhere. It’s like a secret place for rhyming, singing and storytelling.

We went along to the hall for 11.30 and it seems we may have been five minutes late as when we got to the door, lots of music, singing, rattling and laughter could be heard. In we went and pulled up a chair.

We sung and did all the actions to:

Wheels on the Bus
Row your Boat
I’m a Little Teapot
Incy Wincy Spider
Wind the Bobbin
The Hokey Cokey
Grand Old Duke of York
Twinkle Twinkle

Fantastic fun! Lots of the same rhymes that we sing at home and some that we haven’t got round to yet. I wonder if Milo ever gets a sense of “Oh, I know this one” even at this early age?

This is what Milo looks like when we sing and bob with him at the same time.

  1. So cute. Cassy loves the Hokey Cokey, and sings it all the time. She loves our Wed. morning toddler group, where we play with toys and end with singing.
